In front of and behind the camera

Robert’s Visual World is a personal project that showcases the world of cosplay and fan events through video. While I’m usually the one holding the camera, the real stories always come from the characters and the people I meet at each event.

My videos are mainly filmed at cosplay community conventions, where short scenes, atmosphere, and character moments come together to form a Cosplay Music Video. I don’t work in a studio environment; instead, I film in the lively energy of events, where every shot is the result of a spontaneous collaboration.

For me, the most interesting moments are often when the person behind the costume becomes visible. A small movement, a pose that fits the character, or even a smile — these are the moments that later come to life in the videos.

All recordings are made with consent, and the goal is simple: to showcase the creativity, energy, and passion that make the cosplay community so special.

If we meet at an event, there’s a good chance I’m searching for a new scene for the next video. I may be the one behind the camera, but the true stars are always the people who bring these characters to life.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m also part of the cosplay world myself. From time to time I put on a costume too, because for me cosplay is not just something I film – it’s a community and an experience that I enjoy being part of from the inside as well. This also helps me better understand and capture through the camera the creativity and enthusiasm that make cosplay events truly special.
